Updates!

It’s been an exciting few months since the opening of our second location in Island Park, NY. In May, we had the pleasure of hosting our ribbon cutting held by the Island Park Chamber of Commerce.   Mook Print & Design has been graciously received by the community of Island Park and for that we are very grateful.

Since joining the small business’s here in Island Park we have had the pleasure of printing t-shirts and apparel for many community projects such as, the Kaboom sponsored park rebuild at Langraf Park, t-shirts for the Island Park Chamber of Commerce, and t-shirts for the Harbor Isle Summer Festival. Our web design department has had the pleasure of re-designing the websites for Innovated Solar Energy, Lancaster Mennonite High School, The Cultured Pearl Association of America and more. . .All of these recent websites are responsive and scale to the mobile device being viewed on. For Lancaster Mennonite we had the pleasure of doing on page search engine optimization.

In regards to signage and promotional products, we most recently produced signs for Scully Realty in Island Park, Socks and Logo Design for Hyper Athletics, Brochures for Simply Eden and a full re-design of the menu for Rocco’s Catering in East Rockaway.

Strong supporters of Crossfits and athletic groups and businesses, of course we’ve churned out numerous designs for t-shirts, business cards and more for Crossfit Jetty of Oceanside, Crossfit Bayside and the Unbroken t-shirt line.

Lastly we are very grateful to welcome two amazing new employees to the team that truly represent the enthusiasm for print and design work that is Mook Print and Design. Welcome Kyle Augustine as our Junior Designer and welcome Jamie Malekoff as our lead production printer.

We here at team Mook want to revamp this blog, there hasn’t been any activity on here in a while and we would like to change that. Plastic bags are now banned in Glendale, CA and many other cities.

City of Glendale Plastic Carryout Bag Ban Ordinance

Custom Tote BagsIn January 2013, The City of Glendale adopted an ordinance banning the issuance of plastic carryout bags and imposing a ten (10) cent charge on recyclable paper carryout bags.

Beginning July 1, 2013 plastic carryout bags will no longer be available at farmer’s markets, larger grocers and food marts with gross annual sales of $2,000,000 or more and stores of at least 10,000 square feet of retail space that have a licensed pharmacy. Shoppers are encouraged to bring reusable bags, or they will be charged ten (10) cents for each recyclable paper carryout bag, with some exceptions.

On January 1, 2014 the smaller grocers, food markets, liquor stores, convenience stores, drug stores, pharmacies and vendors at City sponsored events, City facilities or City property must be in compliance.

A copy of said Ordinance is available for public inspection in the office of the City Clerk.
